Santa will kick off the Ninth Annual Festival of Lights once again by parachuting in to flip the switch to a mile-long trail of over one million lights. The opening ceremony will feature local choirs and other holiday performers. Visitors can take photos with Santa or see him feed the penguins in the Aquarium Pyramid®.

As one of the largest holiday celebrations in the region, the Festival of Lights has become a holiday tradition for families and groups alike. Enjoy over 100 sound-enhanced animated light displays and nightly live entertainment. Glide across the ice at the area’s only Outdoor Ice Skating Rink. Indoors, you can take pictures with Santa or enjoy a variety of holiday-themed films at the IMAX® 3D Theater, Ridefilm Theater and 4D Special FX Theater. Admission to the Aquarium Pyramid®, IMAX® 3D and Ridefilm Theaters and Colonel Paddlewheel Boat can be purchased for $5 each with a Festival of Lights ticket. Bring your own skates or skate rental is also available for just $5.
Don't miss Imagine Christmas: A Holiday Musical Dinner and Show scheduled for December 16 - 26 at the Moody Gardens® Convention Center. It's a great way to celebrate the season with family, friends or colleagues.
Also, check out the Seawall Half-Marathon, 10K & Crabwalk Nov. 20-21! Spectacular sights abound on this 13.1 mile run through Beachtown and along the Seawall on Texas' Gulf Coast, before a spectacular finish at majestic Moody Gardens. When you're not busy breathing in the fresh sea air, check out the live music and cheerleaders along the course. Be entertained by our fabulous aid stations and fuel up with great treats, Cytomax, frozen fruit and more! After you're done, be a beach bum for the rest of the day, and hang out on Palm Beach at Moody Gardens. Grab a blanket, some great food, and relax! This is an event that you don't want to miss! Special day-passes for all Moody Gardens attractions will be offered to race participants and their families at a discounted rate of $25.
